This 1990 feature from anime legend Go Nagai, creator of Devilman and Cutey Honey among other animated series, is a spirited if uninspired mix of Ninja warrior swordplay, modern yakuza gangster gunplay, and anime-style demons. The mysterious Ninja Dragon is a vaguly supernatural warrior sworn to defend the Nindo clan. He dedicates his sword to Shinobu, the schoolgirl daughter of a yakuza lord, and just in time. Upstart gangster Ranjuji, a hulking thug with demonic eyes, massacres the heads of rival criminal families and kidnaps young Shinobu for his bride. There’s plenty of flashy swordplay and bloody violence (blood spurting from wounds like a waterfall, limbs ripped from bodies, and a man’s face ripped from his head like a banana peel), and the massive battle between the Ninja Dragon’s trio and Shinobu’s army makes up for sloppy techniqu with vigorous choreography and a rush of activity. Apart from a few sidelines for unnecessary exposition and a ridiculous contest that turns Ninja warriors into World Wrestling Federation wrasslin’ chicks, Nagai keeps this silly, simplistic Japanese comic book B movie zipping along with gusto. It won’t leave much of an impression, but it’s a fun 70 minutes of brainless action. –Sean Axmaker

Some people write in their reviews the movie is braindead, expressionless and not amusing at all. Well, it depends on what kind of humor you catch. If you like Tarantino, Coen brothers, Guy Ritchie’s “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”, films like “Thursday”, “Gather Shorty” and “Procedure of the Gun”, then this opus is fair for you. If you can’t stand all of the listed above – impartial skip this one.

To my concept “Snatch” is noteworthy better then previous Ritchie’s work, more than that – it’s one of the best criminal comedies. It’s more criminal than others, it’s more humorous than others. Guy Ritchie actually did his best here and created an atmosphere of absurd, chaotic fun. The acting is perfect, Brad Pitt is totally different from what we archaic to notice, Dennis Farina is unbiased soooo hilarious! Now I can’t normally study him in other movies – I lift “Snatch” and inaugurate to laugh hysterically.

The characters’ lines are comic and the plan they affirm them is even funnier. By the draw it’s one of the few films I had to observe with captions – I couldn’t understand remarkable of being said because of their cockney (if I’m not unsuitable) accent.

I purchased this item and found that disk one was the former superbit edition without the commentary track. I emailed Sony and they mercurial responded saying that this was a mistake with the first production speed. If you mail in disk 1 along with the proof of lift and copy of the email from Sony, they will send you the gracious disk 1. So, if you have this dvd with the rotten disk one, unprejudiced email Sony and they will jabber you what to do.

When mysterious out-of-towner Ted Brautigan (Anthony Hopkins) moves into the boarding house that 11-year-old Bobby Garfield (Anton Yelchin) shares with his self-involved mother (Hope Davis), Bobby jumps at the chance to befriend an adult who talks to him straightforwardly. Ted enlists Bobby to read him the newspaper daily–and to keep an eye out for the “low men” bent on capturing Ted, who possesses a strange mind-reading power. Hopkins is in fine form, ably matched by the phenomenal young Yelchin, but director Scott Hicks (Shine) more often than not flattens out the dramatic arcs of the story, despite all the intriguing turns the film takes. Thankfully, though, the schmaltz factor is kept to a minimum, making Hearts in Atlantis a heartfelt coming-of-age drama. –Mark Englehart

Surprisingly, It Runs in the Family isn’t as much of a vanity project as it seems; though some implausible elements serve only to flatter the stars (wealthy lawyer Alex volunteers at a soup kitchen for the homeless, where a babelicious co-worker throws herself at him), most of the script is solidly written and the parent-child conflicts ring tru. I deem this is one of the worst DVD attempt by Universal Studio. They have totally ignore the fans of this movie. The describe transfer of this movie to DVD was not up to the standard. And why in the world they will only release this in Chubby Cloak format only? What happen to the Widescreen format? I am definite many of us here like to leer this movie as it meant to be seen. I felt like cheated by the studio. I should have read the pleasing print..”FULLSCREEN” I suggest not to hold this dvd and wait for better quality dvd version of this movie. Great flick, advantageous for all ages, and above all else, it’s SCHWARZENEGGER!!! I would really like to recognize a widescreen special edition of this film, but Universal is severely lacking in that department. The describe quality isn’t that ample and it’s only available in fullscreen pan and scan. But it’s a gigantic film either blueprint.
